Ladin history, language and traditions
Deep-rooted in the South Tyrolean Dolomites
The history of the Ladin language is extremely deep-rooted in the South Tyrolean Dolomites. The Ladin culture has survived to date from its Latin origins thanks to the physical characteristics of the central Alps, which have protected it from external influences. It has also been supported and enhanced thanks to important initiatives such as the "Museum Ladin" at San Martino in Badia. The late medieval castle where the museum is housed is the ideal setting for spending a few hours immersed among the fascinating stories and images of an ancient population firmly bound to its traditions.
