During the winter Plan de Corones is one of the most modern ski regions in Europe. In May this year, Plan de Corones is also a stage of the Giro d'Italia. At the summit of Plan de Corones there is also one of the largest bells in Europe: the Concordia, which rings every day at midday. The panorama at the summit of Plan de Corones is superb, as it is surrounded by the beautiful mountains of the Dolomites. The view stretches right down to the tiny valleys.

There are 3 ways of reaching the summit:
1) starting at San Vigilio on foot through the woods to the summit of Plan de Corones (4 – 5 hour hike)
2) starting at San Vigilio with the bus to Furcia pass (15 min from San Vigilio)
a. from Furcia pass to the summit of Plan de Corones following an army road for approx. 1 and a half hours hiking
b. from Furcia pass to the summit of Plan de Corones with the Ruis cable car

Descent on foot: approx. 1 hour
Possibility of finding mushrooms! (N.B.: a permit for collecting mushrooms can be purchased from the tourist office)
